AtWork Personnel Branch Profile - Anaheim, CA
The job market has been changing rapidly in recent years, but that’s not stopping AtWork Personnel franchise owner Lori Brower. With a background in senior home care, being able to make a difference in other people’s lives is one of Brower’s main goals when it comes to her work life, so becoming part of a brand that believes in being “AtWork for you” just made sense. She opened her AtWork Personnel office near her hometown of Placentia in Anaheim, CA, in January 2018, and as a graduate of California State University, Fullerton, she has strong ties to the Orange County area that she currently serves.
The decision to open an AtWork office in Anaheim has positively impacted her life both personally and professionally. “I get to make a difference in someone’s life each and every day,” explained Brower. “I enjoy making connections between our clients and candidates, and the feedback we have received has been amazing. Owning a business gives me the flexibility I need as a mom to be there for my family.”
Although she gets to help people each day, one aspect of her work does present a challenge for Brower—the job market. Brower has owned her office for just over year, but she says that the job market has already changed quite a bit in that short amount of time. The biggest challenge that comes along with these changes is “having an abundance of associates on hand.” Brower says that although she and her staff have been combatting this abundance with a high placement rate, they do have to work hard to get associates to pick her office over competing staffing providers. This is where the backing of a national brand comes in handy. Brower has a great deal of corporate support at her fingertips. The corporate office, AtWork Group in Knoxville, TN, offers training, marketing, and systems support to help Brower and other franchisees tackle anything that comes their way. AtWork also believes in being “AtWork for you,” and according to Brower, this attitude appeals to job seekers: “Once they have engaged with us, they know instantly that we are working hard to find them the perfect placement.”
Overall, Lori Brower believes in the AtWork brand and what she does. Not only does she get to help improve people’s lives by finding them jobs and helping companies find employees, but she also has the work/life balance she needs.
